Meet Claire Gallagher
Cordon Bleu chef and owner of Splendiferous
Claire is a transplanted Canadian who has lived in the UK for nearly 10 years, raising her two children with her Irish Anglo husband.
Having come to professional catering via managing operations at a major airline, Claire took her love of food to a smaller audience and helped to run a private catering company in Toronto. She then worked as a sous-chef in a start up and still successful restaurant and finally (!) studied for her Grande Diplome at the Le Cordon Bleu.
With this background, she understands both the business and the art of food.
After 8 years of friendly prodding, she has decided to share her enthusiasm for good, healthy and easy cooking with those who are keen to learn.
Claire has a vibrant, fun and easy-going personality which appeals to those who may be full-on foodies, as well as those who feel intimidated by the prospect of tea for 2. Having studied Classical French Cuisine, Claire still knows how to offer up meals with speed, simplicity and taste.
Cooking and eating should be, as the French say, part of the rhythm of life.
Her teaching style is open, lively and fun. You can get your hands grubby, or sit back and watch the rest of us.
Courses are for no more than 8 people and don’t eat up your whole day. And speaking of eating, you can stay and enjoy what you have made, or if you need to get a move on, you can take home your efforts and enjoy later.
The objective of Claire’s courses are to have everyone leave feeling inspired to cook something of their own, having gained greater confidence in their own ability and to believe, as Claire does, that everything is better when it is Made With Love...
